Situation Name - 1981 - the complete series

Difficulty Rating = 3 (ratings go from 1 easy to 6 nearly impossible)

In 1981, the England all rounder Ian Botham was sacked as captain after the second test after scoring 0 and 1 and dropping 2 catches, in the third test England were 137/7 following on against Austraila's 401/9 dec., Botham's second innings score of 149 not out is legendy - plastering top bowlers like Lillee, Alderman and Lawson all around the ground - especially for the fact that the conditions were near perfect for swing bowling - of which the 3 formentioned bowlers were experts at. Austraila then needing just over 100 to win were going along fine at 56/1, when Willis switched to bowl at the Kirkstall Lane end. Infact this true story has a hidden side that some younger readers may not know about! - Joe Lister the Yorkshire secretary was asked to order 2 cases of Champagne for Austraila when they were 56/1, when these were collected the question was asked - "Are you sure these are for the Aussies ? they're 68/6!". Indeed this collapse continued with a fantastic 8 wicket hall from Willis to give England the spoils and the champagne.

So I wondered what would happen if Botham wasn't captain for the first two tests, Mike Brearley is instead - of course remembering it was Brearley who was captain when Botham scored his 149 not out.

But, will Botham's heroics be required this time ? To download this situation you firstly need to download the BLC file, then download the player names. Unfortunetly there is a bug in the system, 2 Austrailian Players have been asigned the same wave file due to Allan Border's prescence in the world XI. The computer wants to read wave file 6 which Yallop, so you can either have the sound for Yallop or Border depending on which one you want to come out.

Rename your classic 1981 team to Engteam.tm and delete the original engteam.tm (or rename it), and then paste in your new one in the teams directory - to restore the original one copy it off the CD - just remember to change it from read only!! (in other words click on it and then click your right mouse button and then click on properties and remove the click from read only - this will save a lot of frustation when your editing your team and your changes don't seem to be working!!)

Rename your classic Aussie 1981 team to austeam.tm and delete the original austeam.tm (or rename it), and then paste in your new one in the teams directory - to restore the original one copy it off the CD - again change the copied file from read only by using the method described above.

You may wonder why I am telling you where exactly to put the files and not offering them for download, well I'm affraid that all the material is copywrited to codemasters and by reproducing I am in breach of copywrite - of which I could get seriously sued! Therefore I can't put the files up.
